Thursday Thirteen!! #1

Thirteen Things I'd Wish If I Had Magic Lamp:
  1. to see "Anonymous Teacher's School" scrolling across the bottom of the television, letting me know that school will be closed tomorrow so that I could have an extra day of grading term papers and finishing worksheet creating.
  2. a giftcard for an unlimited amount of money to spend on i-tunes.
  3. the metabolism of my puppy!!
  4. to be able to visit Hogwarts...just once.
  5. for a magic pen to do my grading...I set the pen on top of the stack of papers (essays even), and the pen grades, making the exact same comments I would.
  6. a really good masseur to live in my spare bedroom (and a spare bedroom for the masseur to live in).
  7. enough money to support my shoe and pencil skirt addiction.
  8. for victoria's secret to just lose my balance and somehow owe me in unlimited victoria's secret spending.
  9. green pens!! lots and lots and lots of green pens!!
  10. for barnes and noble to become 24 hours...and become like a library where you can check out books at your leisure.
  11. become my ideal weight and stay there...while still eating all the panera breakfast I please.
  12. for perfect hair...or at least for mine to stop hating my head.
  13. and I suppose the obligatory world peace...
How was that for my first Thursday Thirteen??

addendum: I just read this...and man, do I sound superficial. Boyfriend Head's response when I asked if I sounded this way: Well, you did ask for world peace...

Wow. Welcome to TT! I like it -- especially the masseur one. I've threatened the Tour Manager that I'll send him to masseur school if he's not careful.

A great Thursday Thirteen!! And I agree whole-heartedly with you about #10 on your list!!

Welcome to the Thirteen!

Green pens...I love green pens, purple pens, metallic gel pens, glitter pens, neon-colored pens...

I have far too many pens. And, once I get into an office supply store, little self control. (Why is that?!??)

And who would you like to meet most at Hogwarts? ;-)

Great list! I think I'd probably wish for a few of those things myself. I KNOW I could have used the magic pen when I was teaching. ;)

Glad to see you join the TT ranks! Thanks for stopping by my TT!

It's a great list--there are justifiable moments of selfishness and I think this counts as one of them!

I think this is an excellent list--welcome to Thursday Thirteening. The first time I did it, ten weeks ago, I decided there were at least thirteen reasons why I didn't have time to do it. But here I am still doing it!

I'm a teacher, too--a community college English instructor. I can certainly identify with your need for a magic grading pen. If only I had one . . . .

I'd like an 8th day each week to do school work so that I can have a school work free weekend!

That was a fantastic list, I'm with you on so many of them. I also got a kick out of knowing that teachers secretly cross their fingers, hoping it will be a snow day, too. Even if it's not just to play in the snow.

Welcome to TT!! And a great great way to start it out :)

I love the list! 1, 3, and 4 are my favorites! We haven't missed any school this year, and Hogwarts would be great...would love to take my students! Happy TT!

Yea, I'd like to live at my perfect weight too. That would be paradise.

Welcome to Thursday Thirteen! After Thanksgiving, I would also love a puppy-fast metabolism.
My TT is up as well!

I have somehow managed to avoid the whole Harry Potter thing. Never read a book, watched about half the first movie thinking that one guy was great in Galaxy Quest, Die HArd and Dogma, and that the girl playing the Hermie character was gonna grow up to be extremely cute.

Happy TT

Welcome to the newest addiction in your life!

And I remember waiting to hear my school's closing the night before and knowing I would be able to sleep in a little the next morning. I never really understood that teachers also wanted that privilege.

I think that is a wonderful first TT. I agree with your boyfriend....you did ask for world peace so you are certainly not shallow!
I used to teach (but not in high school...I would have killed them!) and I think a magic pen would have been a GREAT thing.
Welcome to Thursday Thirteen, I look forward to seeing what you write next.

Welcome to TT! They are fun. When I taught my favorite was purple pens, I never thought to wish they were magic.

Great list!

Great list! I feel the sudden urge to go buy some more pens! ;)

Can I borrow the lamp when you're done?

I do not want the metabolism of my puppy, in fact I'd wish that the metabolism of my puppy be vanquished! LOL

That was a great first 13.

Congratulations on being selected as a featured newbie this week at the Hub! Enjoy!

Welcome to TT!! :) Loved your list! Can relate to all non-teaching and non-snow related ones (due to me not being a teacher....and living somewhere where winter means adding one or two quilts to the bed and perhaps putting the heater on for a few hours in the evening....no snow...no big jackets...no snow days :( lol).

Great Blog!

Welcome anonymous! I am a teacher as well as a thirteener...
I like number one too, but it has been very mild here in NY. No phone calls yet.

(I will not gloat...I will not gloat...)

I loved your #6. It's my #12 on my TT. ;)

I'd also like to make it to Hogwarts. I might even get close to it. For a muggle I'm pretty odd. :D

My favorite from your list was for B&N to be open 24 hours. It's 4am and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing than browsing a book store right about now. Sleep? Who needs that when there's books to read?

Wow! Your first 13 and look at all those comments. I posted my third one this week.

I'm so glad your got your wish for number 1. We don't actually get snow days in Georgia, but every now and then we get an ice day.
